Our Pilot Delivery Partners

The following organisations were funded by WLZ to deliver support to children and young people in WLZ’s first neighbourhood, White City during the pilot year 2015/2016.

Families Connect is a new programme, piloted by Save the Children, which aims to improve school-parent engagement and support families to better support their child’s learning at home and at school.

Funpact is a new local social enterprise which has developed the Bridging the Gap course. BtG brings Year 7 children and their parents or guardians together over six sessions to help improve communication between parent or guardian and child.

Hammersmith  Community Gardens Association is a local environmental charity who manage several community gardens in Hammersmith and Fulham, HCGA are running gardening sessions in Ark Swift supporting the school’s ‘Farm to Fork’ initiative and a Farm Club in Phoenix High School supporting behaviour.

Home Start Westminster supports any family with at least one child under five with trained volunteers who give encouragement and support to change the pattern of troubled lives through regular home visits.

London Sports Trust supports increased physical activity and development and better nutritional understanding and behaviour through a range of different sport and physical activity sessions in secondary school.

Music House for Children supports communication development in Participants in the Early Years through weekly music sessions, informed by Speech and Language Therapy techniques.

QPR works with WLZ participants particularly in primary school to support physical development and healthy eating education through their ‘Health Stars’ and ‘Story of Spark’ programmes.

React Drama Therapy (who also run the White City Youth Theatre), delivers therapeutic drama sessions for secondary school age Participants.

Real Action improves children’s reading using the Butterfly Reading Programme. For WLZ this is delivered in school, but Real Action also runs two local Butterfly Saturday Schools.

ClementJames Centre aims to empower the local community through education and employment support. CJC supports WLZ secondary school students through a programme of academic support and 1:1 tuition, targeting Maths and English.

West London Action for Children has been supporting children and families in Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham since 1917. It is supporting children and families in Ark Swift with 1:1 and group therapeutic counselling.

White City Adventure Playground is a community asset in the middle of the White City estate offering open access and after school play. WLZ primary and secondary Participants enjoy child initiated and child led play which supports their physical development and all round wellbeing.
